Always Home’s HEART TO HEART gala on Friday, April 19, 2024 drew 350 attendees who came together to Prevent Family Homelessness and to recognize community leaders Karen Stone, David Schulz, Amanda Arling and The Whalers Inn. Also present was State Senator Heather Somers who acknowledged this year’s gala honorees with Certificates of Special Recognition.

The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT Foundation awarded grants in excess of $94,000 in support of 37 programs that benefit children and families in the region on March 24, 2020.
“At this critical time for many nonprofits, the Foundation worked to swiftly disburse funds to the recipients,” said Tony Sheridan, President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT. “The Board members did a wonderful job of making ready the Local Non-Profits Benefit From Credit Union’s Giving ProgramWaterford, CT – Charter Oak Federal Credit Union awarded $18,850 to 10 local non-profits as part of its quarterly giving grants disbursement.
Grant recipients included Always Home, Inc.; Cutler Middle School PTO; Groton Parks Foundation, Inc.; High Hopes Therapeutic Riding Inc.; Madonna Place, Inc.; Striving Towards Empowered Personal Success; Sails Up 4 Cancer; Salt Marsh Opera Company, Inc.; Southeastern Connecticut Enterprise Region; and the Pfizer’s Groton Laboratories and the Clinical Research Unit, New Haven will support more than 60 programs in Southeastern Connecticut, the greater New Haven area, and southern Rhode Island through its 2018 competitive grants program.
Priority was given to programs that bring science and math to students from elementary through high school. Additional awards were made for programs that provide for the underserved or to support local civic and cultural institutions. Groups receiving support in 2018
